this will be covered in the comic, but it’s not really spoilery so it’s fine for me to explain. the hyalinese don’t believe in gods so much as their existence is a fact. Similar to shintoism, spirits/gods, whatever you want to call them, reside in every natural thing, from rivers, to rocks, trees, and plants - animals too. (although the spirits within people and animals are regarded as a seperate entity to those in “inanimate” objects) The existence of spirits is directly related to the existence of magic in Hyalin.
